Symphonic Band
The CHIJ St Nicholas Girls’ School symphonic band was established in 1972. It has since evolved from a regimental marching band to a versatile performance band. We are an 80-member strong band under the baton of Mr. Toh Yang Yang, our band conductor, and perform a wide variety of pieces ranging from pop music to classical music. The band performs in school and in public and participates in national competitions, obtaining many awards and enriching experiences in the process. In 2024, we performed to the public in Jubilate XIV, as well as in Schools in Concert 2024 organised by the Band Directors’ Association. In the 2025 SYF Arts Presentation, we clinched the Certificate of Distinction!

CCA Highlights
| Singapore Youth Festival Arts Presentation 2025 The band performed the set piece Overture I by Dr. Kelly Tang, as well as our choice piece Adventure Tale of Neverland by Daisuke Shimizu. |

| Jubilate XIV 2024 The band performed Beauty and the Beast medley, as well as Phantom of the Opera in a combined performance with Strings Orchestra. |

| School National Day Observance Ceremony Working together with SN’s uniform groups, band members worked hard to create a memorable National Day performance. |
