St John Brigade

St John Brigade (SJB) Singapore seeks to instil self-discipline in students and to promote teamwork among students. 

Students will learn basic first aid knowledge, which includes Home Nursing and Basic/Advanced CPR techniques. They will also engage in vigorous foot-drill and physical training sessions to build up their stamina. Students then apply the skills learnt in Zonal and National Competitions, which are held every year.

Our motto is Pro Utilitate Hominum (For The Service of Mankind) and this is instilled in the cadets as they engage in Public Duty services, where they apply their practical skills into real-world context. Our cadets have provided first aid and relief efforts at numerous school events as well as various national platforms. 

The St John Pledge:

5. To carry out all orders received from time to time from seniors 
6. To carry out my duties with zeal and efficiency to the best of my ability

CCA Highlights

Annual Camps Our annual camps allow our cadets to demonstrate resilience and perseverance. Cadets also acquire essential first aid and home nursing knowledge and skills. Our camps also include engaging activities such as outdoor cooking and Amazing Races that allow our cadets to bond with their squadmates. This develops a strong sense of camaraderie within through our unfaltering motto - One for All, All for One!
First Aid and Home Nursing Competitions Our cadets participate in the 2025 First Aid and Home Nursing Competitions organised by St John HQ. At the District level, our Nursing Adult teams were crowned District champions and first runner up; our Nursing Cadet obtained first runner up.
National Day Celebrations Our cadets regularly participate in our school’s annual National Day Celebrations. Through events such as this, cadets learn how to work together as a contingent and build resilience as they brave the elements. Some of our cadets have also been invited to be part of the St John Brigade contingent at the National Day Parade.
Public Duty Our cadets perform voluntary first aid duties during various school and community events. While performing public duties at community events, cadets are attached to experienced officers and medical professionals. Such duties also provide cadets an opportunity to practice their first aid skills.
HQ events As a member of North District, we occasionally come together with other schools across the District to participate in various events. Pictured here is North District’s Annual Secondary 1 Enrolment and Inauguration Ceremony.
