The CHIJ Youth Mission provides an enabling environment for students to recognize and promote the dignity of human beings, especially the disadvantaged. SN IJYM is one out of the 5 IJ Secondary Schools and we engage in collaborative activities to further our mission.

CCA Highlights

NLB Kidsread Programme IJYM partners with the National Library Board (NLB) in the KidsRead Programme, where we go down to Ang Mo Kio Primary on Thursdays to read to Primary One children. Through this programme, we aim to help them cultivate a love for reading and support the development of their reading skills.
Teck Ghee CC Carnival Together with IJSC, IJYM held the Teck Ghee CC Carnival for all children from Ang Mo Kio. We facilitated games and crafts booths at the carnival for the children to enjoy. Through this event, we hope they had fun and made many happy memories.
IJSC outreach IJYM partners with Infant Jesus Sanctuary for Children (IJSC), a student care for St Nicks Primary students, to interact with the children, from helping them with their homework to organising activities for them such as games and arts and crafts. We aim to bring joy to the children and exercise our sisterly love through these IJSC outreach sessions.
Beekind Beekind is a programme started by IJYM where we plan initiatives that benefit the community, whether it is the elderly, young children, our primary section 妹妹们, and even our own schoolmates. One of our Beekind initiatives was the Valentine’s Day recess booth, where we taught our schoolmates how to make pipe cleaner crafts in theme for Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year. Another of our initiatives is Peer Tutoring, where we pair the upper secondary students with lower secondary students for tutoring in various subjects to promote our school’s 姐妹同心 spirit. This year we also launched the Borrow An Umbrella campaign, which seeks to help provide students with umbrellas on rainy days.
